Betty Jean Leonard

Betty Jean Leonard, age 91 of Crosby died on March 1, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on December 17, 1928 in Unorganized Township to Edward and Echo (Britton) Vaars.  Betty was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, the CCW and the Pasty Group, the Myrin-James American Legion Post 443 Auxiliary and a retired member of the Crosby Fire Department Auxiliary.

Betty is survived by three sons, John (Jill) Leonard of Crosby, Tim (Cheryl Plude) Leonard of Ironton and Jeff Leonard of Ironton; one daughter, Lori (Mike) Lorence of Brooklyn Park; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchild.

Preceding Betty in death are her parents; her husband, Franklin; two sons, Gregory and Ricky Leonard; one grandson, Calvin Leonard; two brothers, Edward Jr. and Frances Vaars; and two sisters, Bertha Vaars and Echo Thori

Mass of Christian Burial will 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.  A visitation will be on Sunday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
