Brent C. Running, 80, of Deerwood, passed away surrounded by family on December 3, 2021, from complications of Progressive SupraNuclear Palsy. PSP is an extremely rare progressive brain disease which increasingly impacted his mobility, balance, speech, swallowing and vision.
Brent attended the University of Minnesota, and graduated from the FBI Academy. He enjoyed his 32 year career with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s office as Captain of the Criminal Division and Brent retired in 1997 as Chief Deputy.
Brent is survived by Judy, his wife of 40 years. Brent and Judy treasured each other, working, retiring and traveling together, constantly holding hands through life’s challenges. They were grateful for finding each other, and shared a profound and true love.
Brent loved golf, fishing, all sports, their cabin and life in a small community. His quiet nature, sharp wit and infectious smile will be greatly missed
Also surviving Brent are his sons Mark Running, Darren (Lynn) Bushinger and Dan (Theresa) Bushinger, five grands, Tyler (Molly), Austin, Jack, Alina, Molly and two step grands Alex and Chloe. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Borghild and brother Garry.
Memorial service Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 4th Street SW, Crosby, MN. Visitation 12:00 noon with service at 1:00. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Minnesota 100 Club (protecting the protectors) or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
