David Fellerman Obituary

David Fellerman, age 78, of Aitkin died on March 2, 2020 at the Hallett Cottages in Crosby. Dave was born on October 29, 1941 to Arthur and Lydia (Dangers) Fellermann in Crosby.  He married Lynn (Steinke) Fellerman on May 18, 1968 at St John’s Lutheran Church of Cedarbrook.  Dave grew up on the family farm in Rabbit Lake Township.  He was active in 4H, showing many of the farm animals at both county and the state fairs.  Dave graduated from Aitkin High School in 1959.  He joined the Navy in 1961, where he served 4 years and then extended an additional 4 month due to the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton.   He worked for the local telephone company, Pioneer, United, Sprint, Embarq and Century Line Telecommunications Company with 40 years of service.  Dave and Lynn lived on the family farm where they raised their family and ran a beef farm operation. Dave was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Cedarbrook.  He was a leader of Rabbit Lake 4H Club and an area Fire Warden for Rabbit Lake Township for many years.  A retired member of Iron Hub softball team, and in later years took up golfing, he even got a hole in one.  He loved getting together with family and neighbors to play cards at the 30 Club, watching Vikings games and deer hunting at the Fellerman Hilton.  He was a proud member of the Sunday Night Coors Crew.  

Dave is survived by his wife Lynn,  one son Todd (Jane/BJ) Fellerman of Aitkin.  Two daughters Julie (Mark) Dilbeck of Blaine and Lori (Bill) Mattson of Nisswa.  His Brother Harold (Bonnie) Fellerman of Maple Grove and sister-in-law Diane Fellermann of Skaneateles New York.  Grandchildren Josh (Ariel) Gravelle, Maggi and Lydia Fellerman, Colton and Sawyer Dilbeck, Isla and Isaac Mattson.  He was also blessed with three great grandchildren Aiden, Dawson and Shannon.

Dave was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Arthur Fellermann Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cedarbrook.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cedarbrook and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.  Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cedarbrook with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
