Donald Rhodes Obituary

Donald G. Rhodes age 85 of Cuyuna formerly of Bay Lake died at his home on November 19, 2018 after a battle with prostate cancer.  He was born in Minneapolis on June 13, 1933 to Abdon and Della (Olson) Rhodes.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.  He graduated from Minnehaha Academy, class of 1951 and the U of M School of Business, class of 1955. Don married Barbara Krieger on July 3, 2006 at Bay Lake.  He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. 

 

Don is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Paul (Tami) Rhodes of Naples, FL; two daughters, Barbara (Chris) Icenogle of Brooklyn Park and Margie (Gregg) Bloom of Rockford, MN; one brother, Dan (Barbara) Rhodes of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Rebekah, Paul, Zach, McKenzie, Bjorn and Gunnar and four great grandchildren.

 

Preceding Don in death are his parents; his first wife, Mary; a sister, Dorothy Rhodes and a grandson, Timothy Icenogle.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at Bay Lake Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be at the Church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.  If so desired memorials are preferred to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the CRMC Hospice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
