Evelyn Mae James Saumier

Evelyn Mae James Saumier age 96  of Ironton died on June 4, 2018 at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born on November 4, 1921 in International Falls to George and Ruth (Doust) Laughton.  

Evelyn is survived by one son, Dennis (Clarice) James of Des Moines, WA; three daughters, Patricia (Ken) Wheeler of Butte, MT, Sharon Buschmann of Pequot Lakes, and Kayleen (Patrick) Bodle of Baxter; two brothers, Ed (Rose) Laughton and Joe (Rose) Laughton all of Rochester; three sisters, Margie Horner of Deerwood, Shirley Evans of Mission, TX and Virginia (Joel) Torgerson of Crosby; sixteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Evelyn in death are her parents; 1sthusband, Lonney James, 2ndhusband, Adolph Saumier; two sons, Don and Lonney James; a grandson, David James; two brothers, George “Shog” Laughton and Albert Laughton; and two sisters, Ruth James and Lillian Roxberg.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Saturday.
