Gordon Wesley Rosen, age 81 of Fort Ripley died at his home on January 14, 2022. He was born on February 18, 1940 in Montevideo to Claus and Ruth (Scharf) Rosen. Gordon was a retired local Home Builder and Mason. He also had a career in printing. He was a past president of the Minnesota Trapper’s Association and past National Trapper of the Year. He was also a local Bear Hunting Guide, an avid gardener, being known for donating Pumpkins with Law Enforcement and enjoyed singing and playing guitar.
Gordon is survived by one son, Jim (Sally) Jonsten of Sebring, FL; five daughters, Kathy (Pat) Condon of Fifty Lakes, Debra (Steve) Thompson of Highland, MI, Jennifer (Bill) Theyson of Fort Ripley and Palestine TX, Barb (Hal) Blechinger of Lake Elmo and Joan Berry of Fort Ripley; one sister, Joan Haugland of Montevideo; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Preceding Gordon in death are his parents, his wife Alice in 2018; two brothers, Jess and George Rosen; two sisters, Elaine Hudson and Nancy Beaman; and son-in-law, Chuck Tschida.
A Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Wesleyan Church in Emily. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
