Howard M. Dutton, age 88 of Outing died on December 26, 2020 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born on June 18, 1932 in Regent, North Dakota to Harold and Mabel (Ehleringer) Dutton. Howard married Barbara Fehr on August 7, 1954 in Outing. He was the owner and operator of the Washburn Point Lodge on Washburn Lake (aka Fehr’s Resort). He served as the local Fire Warden and local Township Assessor with Cass County and was a former Forman of the United Wild Rice Processing Co. in Outing.
Howard is survived by three sons, Howard Wade (Holly) Dutton of Detroit Lakes, Brett (Kristi) Dutton of Baxter and Shawn (Jan) Dutton of St. Michael; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Howard in death are his parents; his wife, Barbara; and three sisters, Florence Kolb, Jennie Collins and Donna Kolb.
A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Outing. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily with full military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
