Joanne Mae Stanfield, age 87, passed away on September 7, 2022 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Joanne was born to Frank and Pearl Frazer on October 28, 1934 in Duluth, MN. She was united in marriage to Robert Stanfield on February 28, 1952. After raising her six children, she worked at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in the Dietary Department for many years. Joanne later obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and worked at both Hallett Cottages and Heartwood in Crosby. Joanne was well known throughout the community for her caramel rolls, cinnamon bread, bulgar wheat bread, and her famous banana bread which she shared with nearly everyone she met. Joanne's life revolved around family activities and celebrations. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Cardinals were her favorite as they inspired treasured memories of departed loved ones.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 57 years; sisters, Connie McDonough, and Bonnie Kempffer.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Frazer; children, Cheryl (Woody) Rothwell, Randy (Amy) Stanfield, Cindy (Brad) Klein, Kevin (Nancy) Stanfield, Brenda (Tom) McNeill, Scott (Tammy) Stanfield; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
