Obituary

John Bernard Johnson, age 82 of Crosby died on October 20, 2022 at his home.  He was born in Crosby on July 15, 1940 to Arthur B. and Helen (Krans) Johnson.  John graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1958, where he was a member of the Crosby-Ironton basketball team.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He entered at the Great Lakes Trainer Center, receiving a medical discharge in September of 1958.  He spent most of his life in construction, and was a member of the 49er’s Union until his retirement.  Also, he was a member of Troop 100 Boy Scouts earning and Eagle Scout award and was a member of the United Methodist Church. 

John is survived by his brother, Conrad (Judith) Johnson of Tulsa, OK; niece, Paula (Ryan) Wilson of Broken Arrow, OK; nephew Rev. RJ (Lisa) LeBarron of Canton, OH and their children, CJ and Rose.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, followed by a reception at the Ironton Legion.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
