June Virginia Leopold

June Virginia Leopold age 91 of Crosby died on May 16, 2018 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby.  She was born in Pipestone on May 25, 1926 to Arthur and Blanche (Price) Zetterlund. June was a former resident of Two Harbors, Detroit Lakes and Green Valley, AZ.   She graduated from Pipestone Public Schools in 1944.  She graduated from the Abbott School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1947.  June was a nurse in the Cadet Nursing Corp from 1944-1947.  From 1948 -1988 June was employed as a RN at Lake View Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1988.June married Wayne Leopold on June 27, 1947 in Pipestone.  She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and the Immanuel Quilters.

June is survived by two daughters, Susan (Wendell) Herman of Fargo, ND and Mary (Stan) Nagorski of Crosby; two sons; Tom (Beth) Leopold of Lenexa, KS and David (Jan) Leopold of Breckenridge, CO; Nine grandchildren, Mark (Jocelyn) Herman and Kristin (Craig) Dorn, Lindsey West and Ryan (Emily) West, Jamie (Tim) Landers and Jake Leopold, David Leopold, Michael (Kaitlyn) Leopold and Colton Leopold; Step grandchildren, Michael (Darci) Nagorski, Kathryn (Steve) Leary; eight great grandchildren, Kellen, Cayden, Nyah, Lyla, Caleb, Adyson, Nora and Henry; Step great grandchildren, Logan, Emma, and Matthew; one brother, Donald (Hazel) Zetterlund of Leola, SD.

Preceding June in death are her parents; one sister, Ruth Sorenson; and four brothers, Richard, Gerald, Stanley and Ronald Zetterlund.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.  If so desired memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Quilting, Handbell, or Good Samaritan Ministries. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
