Juneal S. Pecarich

Juneal Pecarich, 93 passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

She was born to Victor and Suzanne Dahl on February 12, 1928.  She was raised solely by her mother Suzanne, as her father abandoned them and 3 sisters during the great depression.  She lived in Staples as a young girl and later moved to Brainerd as a teenager.  Juneal married Matt Pecarich on May 18, 1946.  They lived in Crosby-Ironton and were married for 59 years until his passing.

Juneal was a wonderful cook.  Even though she was of the Norwegian heritage, she mastered all the Croatian recipes and was well known for her potica far and wide, from Toronto, Canada to California.

Juneal is survived by her three children, John (Paula) Pecarich of Brainerd, Juneal “Cis” Ramsdell of Baxter, and Joan (Don) Rud of Greenfield; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband Matt; her mother, Suzanne; and 3 sisters, Jackie, Joan and Jeanne.

A Celebration of her life will be at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. with sharing of memories at 12:30 p.m.  A reception will follow at the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, in Ironton.
