Katherine Emma "Kathie" Olander

Katherine Emma “Kathie” Olander, age 90 of Crosby died on November 19, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born in Deerwood Township on April 11, 1931 to Stanley and Aimar (Ford) Splettstoeszer.  Katie was a retired Activity Director at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  She was a member at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and loved to quilt at church and with the Loon Crafters, was a former Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader and a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen in Brainerd.

Katie is survived by three sons, James “Michael” Olander of     Texas, David (Bevie) Olander of Tacoma, WA and Richard (Brenda) Olander of Scottsboro, AL; one daughter, Carol (Larry) Wedll of New Hope; three sisters, M. Louise (Lew) Forsmark of Bloomington, Mary (Arvin) Packer of Park Rapids and Betty (Lester) Shankle of South Bend, IN; and thirteen grandchildren and eight geat great grandchildren.

Preceding Katie in death are her parents, one grandson, Andrew Phillip Olander; and two brothers, Erick and Robert Splettstoeszer.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
