Lawrence “Larry” Lynn Hartman, 71, of Crosby, MN passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born the eldest of six children on August 2nd, 1952 to Arlene (Puetz, Hartman) Freeman and the late Lynn Hartman in Brainerd, MN.
He met the love of his life and High School sweetheart Peggy (Knapper) Hartman at Brainerd High School. Excited to start their new lives together, they married on June 11, 1971.
Larry proudly lead and was involved with many organizations throughout his life - youth ministry, owner of several local businesses including C-I Video, active member of the St Joseph’s Catholic Church parish, St Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus, Birthright, Haiti Mission trips, ran two prayer lines, and was most proud of being one of the founding members with the REC (Residents Encountering Christ) and Let’s Talk programs.
Larry will always be remembered for the joy, humor, and love he brought to so many he touched. His hobbies included motorcycling, hunting, and travel, but his greatest passion was fishing.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Lynn, sister Julie, and brother Michael. He leaves behind faithful bride of 52yrs Peggy Hartman; and a lifetime of joyful memories for their three children Joel Hartman (Kathy), Jessica Adza (Anthony), and Daniel Hartman (Elizabeth). He also leaves behind six grandchildren that were his true pride and joy - Gage, Mikaela, Logan, Amelia, Liam, and Olivia. And is also survived by his loving family - mother Arlene, brother Wayne, and sisters Sandy and Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 4 to 7pm with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, January 5th at 10:00am until the time of services at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, MN. 619 Poplar St, Crosby, MN 56441. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 5th at 11am at St Jospeh’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery to follow. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
