Linnea Marie Jelen

Linnea M. Jelen, age 77 of St. Joseph formerly of Crosby died on December 22, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  She was born on April 21, 1943 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Henry and Elsie (Carlson) Schwall. Linnea married Ronald Jelen on January 27, 1979 in Crosby.  She was a longtime local child care provider; a former Human Services Technician at the Brainerd State Hospital; a longtime Activities Director at the Dellwood Apartments in Crosby and a former member of the C-I Garden Club.

Linnea is survived by two sons, Chad Jelen of Crosby; Aaron Jelen of New York Mills; two daughters Jessica (Matthew) Lelou of St. Joseph and Amy Jelen of Brainerd; her step mother, Kathleen Mount of Brainerd; two sisters, Georgene (Dennis) Molesky of Crosby and Marlene (Bill) Dean of Rogers; two step brothers, Leon (Cathy) Witter of Hutchinson and Mark (Roni) Witter of Cambridge; and two grandchildren.

Preceding Linnea in death are her parents; her husband Ronald in 2014; step father, Gene Mount and a brother, Ed Mount.  

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Life Spring Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
