Louis Joseph Mazar, 92 of Crosby, formerly Cuyuna died on July 16, 2020 at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. He was born on September 4, 1927 in Cuyuna to Nicholas and Katherine (Mikulich) Mazar. Louie was a WWII Army AirCorp veteran. Louie married Delena Harrison on September 26, 1948 in Crosby. He was local iron ore miner with Pittsburg Pacific and Zontelli Brothers with 26 years of service. He retired from the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Maintenance Department with 10 years of service. Louie was an avid fisherman and was a local fishing guide. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; the Knight of Columbus and a retired chief with the Cuyuna Fire Department.
Louie is survived by one son, Brent (Kirsten) Mazar of Merrifield and one daughter, Susan (Scott) Henderson of St. Petersburg, FL.
Preceding Louie in death are his parents; his wife Deanie`; three brothers, Peter, Paul, and John Mazar; and two sisters, Mary Hulin and Madelyn Danich.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby will full military honors by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 of Ironton.. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
