Mark Anthony Vukelich, age 60, passed away surrounded by loved ones in Waco, Texas on January 26th, 2023. He was born to George “Sonny” Vukelich and Genevieve Vukelich in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 20th, 1962. Mark graduated from Normandale Community College with two Associate’s Degrees, and his career as an Information Technology professional brought him to companies like Epson, Carlson, and UnitedHealth Group where Mark would solve and manage challenges of all difficulties and scales.
To his friends, Mark was the ever social butterfly and listener. His laughs filled his favorite bars and pizza nights at his friends’ homes, and his smile shone over the golf courses in Minnesota and Arizona and the golf tournament he organized. Mark was always solving his friends’ nuanced computer problems or sympathizing with overworked nurses caring for him in the later years.
Mark’s family journey saw him buy a home in Rogers, Minnesota where he helped raise his two sons, Robert and Steven. He’d put unending energy and support into their interests and talents whether that be bringing Steven to the Timberwolves games at Target Center and Steven’s intramural basketball games or bringing Robert to the Wild games at Xcel Energy Center and Robert’s varsity hockey games. And, of course, Mark would bring the family together with movie nights with his carefully planned home theater setup.
While Mark was taken away far too young, his legacy lives on in his sons who carry on Mark’s best traits in supporting and caring for friends and family and his aspirational traits in tinkering with fascinating technology.
Preceding Mark in death are his mother, Genevieve; and his two brothers, Michael and David.
Mark is survived by his sons, Robert and Steven; his father and step-mother, George “Sonny” and Susie; and his sisters, Mary ”Sunny Jo” and Sarajean.
