Marlys Jean Ravnik age 90 of Crosby, died at her daughter’s home in Crosby. Marlys was born in Cuyuna to Gustav and Sadie (Palm) Steinke. She graduated from Crosby Ironton High School and worked in Duluth as a phone operator and as a dental assistant in Crosby. Marlys married Jacob Ravnik in Seward Alaska. Living in remote areas of Alaska raising two girls was a challenging experience for her but she created a happy, care-free adventure for her children. Jake and Marlys spent their time between Alaska and Crosby for 25 years before retiring permanently to Crosby. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.
Marlys is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Ravnik of Crosby and Betty Ravnik and Jeff Helget of Alexandria, sister-in-law June Steinke, multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jake, brothers Wallace and Warren Steinke.
Marlys will be interned at Lakewood cemetery. Per her request no services will be held. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
