Odean W. “Odie” Gottlieb, age 65 of Ironton died on January 10, 2020 at his home. He was born on July 9, 1954 in Minneapolis to Orville and Margaret (Syreen) Gottlieb. Odie married Colleen DeVos Chandler on December 27, 1997 in Brainerd. He was a former Ironton Fireman, a former employee of Davis and Douglas Engineering in Deerwood and was the former owner and operator of Odie’s Bar and Grill in Ironton. Odie was a Nascar Fanatic and an avid snowmobiler.
Odie is survived by his wife, Colleen; three daughters, Stacy (Jason) Nelson-O’Connell of Ironton, Laura (Jamie) Lee of Deerwood and Carmen Cady of Ironton; two brothers, Ozzie (Jan) Gottlieb of Zimmerman and Orin Gottlieb of Minneapolis; one sister, Julie (Dennis) Recknor of Deerwood; eight grandchildren, Timmothy Chandler, Ahreanna Chandler, Jordaan Reynolds, Calvin Blood, Steven Chandler, Griffin Severson, Zachary O’Connell and Rainah O’Connell and one great grandchild, Letti Chandler.
Preceding Odie in death are his parents and on brother, Owen.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. A reception will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Myrin-James American Legion Post in Ironton.
