Patricia A. "Pat" Genz

Patricia “Pat” A. Genz, age 76 of Emily, MN passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023 at Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin, MN.   Pat was born June 20, 1946 in St. Paul, MN to Anton and Elizabeth (Steichen) Fendrick.  She attended St. Stanislaus School in St. Paul until 1961 and then graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1963.  After high school she worked at St. Paul Companies until she met the future love of her life.  On August 30, 1974, she married Gene Genz in St. Paul, MN. They bought their first house in Crosby, MN and moved to Emily, MN in 1975, where they spent the remainder of their lives. 

Pat was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend.  She enjoyed cooking with Gene for family gatherings and for the Emily Volunteer Fire Department.  Pat was known for her deviled eggs and horseradish pickles, she liked to bake cookies and she loved to dance.  However, her greatest pride and joy in life was certainly her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her two sons, Chad (Kami) Genz and Craig (Mindi) Genz; four grandchildren, Charlee and Cooper, Hope and Aric; brother, Jim Fendrick; sister Gayle (Fendrick) Stewart; her lifelong best friend, Joann Cordie; and many friends and extended family members.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth “Betty” King and Anton Fendrick; her husband, Gene; and her brother, William Fendrick.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on June 10, 2023 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the park behind the Emily Fire Hall.  Arrangements are through Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
