Ray Augustson Obituary

Ray George Augustson, age 90 of Hazelton Township died at his home on February 13, 2023.  He was born on June 3, 1932 in Primghar, Iowa to George and Velma (Hawley) Augustson.  Ray was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran.  He was a retired United Telephone employee with 30 years of service.  He was a member of Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison.  
Ray is survived by his wife Linda; three sons, Vernon Augustson of Rochester, Dennis Augustson of Litchfield and Duane Augustson of LaPorte; one step son, Ron (Wendy) Martin of Rockford; one daughter, Linda (Rick) Zahler of Earlham, IA; two step daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Eccles of Farmington and Lori Martin of Plymouth; one sister, Donna Earley of Cameron, MO; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Ray in death are his parents; his 1st wife, Marlene; one son, Dale Augustson; one step son, Chuck Martin and one sister, Alice Klingaman.
A Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery in Little Falls at 3:00 p.m. Friday with military honors.  Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
