Robert Roy “Bob” Geske age 90 of Deerwood died at his home on August 25, 2021. He was born on May 16, 1931 in Regina Saskatchewan Canada to Oscar and Margaret Geske. He graduated from the Thief River Falls High School, returned to Canada to play one season of Canadian semi-pro hockey before entering the United States Air Force. After leaving the service Bob lived and worked in the Crosby area for many years before moving to the Twin Cities area in 1963. Bob moved back to the Crosby area in 1967 and began working for Scorpion Snowmobiles as a mold maker and fabricator in their fiberglass division. In 1968 he and Dr. James Naros created the hockey program in the Crosby area. Bob was an avid Minnesota sports fan and rarely missed a Twins, North Star/Wild or Vikings game. He was a fanatical Vikings fan and was extremely proud when his granddaughter Erika became a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader. He was a proud member of Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post in Deerwood.
Bob is survived by his best friend and companion of thirty-eight years, Deloris “Dode” Waffensmith and her caring family; son, Rob (Mona) Geske of Trommald; granddaughter, Erika Weymann (Jeff Ramacher) and great granddaughter, Charlye Weymann of Lino Lakes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a sharing a of memories at 12:30 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday with military honors presented by the Water Scott Erickson American Legion Post.
