Susan (Sue) Mary Runde, 72, passed away on August 7th, 2022, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota. Sue was born on September 1st, 1949, in Mobridge, South Dakota, and moved to Minnesota at a young age with her family. Sue basically spent her entire life in the Crosby area. She came from a large family and was the third oldest of six sisters and one brother. She worked in the dietary at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center for over 40 years.
Sue was an avid hockey fan and often said one of her greatest memories was attending a Minnesota North Stars playoff game against the Chicago Blackhawks (North Stars lost). Even up until her passing, she would often reminisce about how she disliked the Blackhawks.
Sue met her life partner, Roy, in 1990 and, although they were never married, Roy has always been considered a member of the family. Sue’s son Anthony was the joy of her life. She was proud of the father and husband he became. She absolutely cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and was so very proud of them.
Sue had the uncanny ability to deliver her thoughts in a manner that was not filtered, known to many as, “Sue-ism’s.” However, Sue will certainly be remembered for her kindness.
Sue is survived by her life partner, Roy DeNio, son, Anthony (Stefanie) Runde, two grandchildren, Keenan and Kallem, one step grandchild, Cole, one brother, Michael Runde, five sisters, Patricia Tweedy, Christine Roach, Debra Olander, Lorraine Elrod, Cheryl Bockelmann, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in in death by her parents, Dorrance (D.W.) and Corella Runde.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held for friends and family at the Ironton American Legion on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, at 6:00 pm.
